Join Endicott College for this FREE EVENT to kick off our inaugural Expressive Therapies Symposium. The theme of this years symposium is Traditional Chinese Medicine, Arts, and Culture.

We look forward to building a creative dyanmic dialogue around the Expressive Therapies and traiditional forms of Chinese healing.

9:00 – 9:15 am: OPENING REMARKS with Chunhong Wang and Krystal Demaine

9:15 - 10:15 am: KEYNOTE TALK with founding member of Expressive Therapies and co-editor of Creative Arts Therapy: Eastern and Western Perspecives, Dr. Shaun McNiff

Shaun McNiff’s keynote talk, “East West Convergence on How Art Heals: China’s Many Contributions,” will set the stage for the Expressive Therapies Symposium and introduce participants how art heals.

Shaun McNiff has published numerous books have been translated and read worldwide. He is an exhibiting painter and founding figure in the field of expressive arts therapy and art-based research. The recipient of many honors including the Honorary Life Member Award of the American Art Therapy Association. Shaun was appointed as Lesley University’s firstUniversity Professor. Shaun is co-editor of the international journal Creative Arts in Education and Therapy: Eastern and Western Perspectives. Previously Shaun served as Provost and Dean at Endicott College where he was instrumental in starting Endicott’s Creative Arts Therapy program.
