Event description

Description

Her Eminence Mindrolling Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche

will bestow teachings on ascertaining the nature of mind

"Pointing out the Dharmakaya"

This is a profound Mahamudra teaching on discovering the nature of mind, the shortest of three treatises on this topic by The Ninth Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje (1556–1603), an accomplished master of Mahamudra. This text, a pithy practice manual, provides clear instructions for the practioner to ascertain the nature of mind and gain confidence in it through practice. The other related texts are The Ocean of Definitive Meaning and Illuminating the Darkness of Ignorance. While no prior reading is needed to attend (familiarity with basic Shamatha meditation will suffice) many excellent commentaries are available., such as this one by the Ven Thrangu Rinpoche

Khandro Rinpoche a holder of the Kagyü and Nyingma lineages, has been teaching internationally for over two decades and is fluent in English. Her teachings are known for their incisiveness and humor. Rinpoche’s North American center is in Stanley, VA. www.lotusgardens.org. Many of her teachings can be found online at www.khandrorinpoche.org/teachings
