Description

Durham...The Kalmia Garden Music and Arts Fall Farmhouse Concert is scheduled for the weekend of October 19 - 21 at the Gastler Farm, 159 Middlefield Road in Durham. Pianist Timothy Krippner returns to the venue to perform works by Bach, Prokofiev, Liszt, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.

Praised as "a true artist" by the late Aldo Ciccolini for his technical brilliance and great imagination, Krippner has won top awards in competitions including the University of Michigan Concerto Competition and the Seattle International Piano Competition. Currently based in Houston, Texas where he received a Da Camera Young Artist Fellowship and completed his Master of Music degree at Rice University, he has performed throughout the United States, Italy, and Austria.

The Friday concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday concerts begin at 4:00 p.m. The grounds open for picnicking two hours prior to each concert and Tim Gastler will lead a tour of his extensive gardens one hour before each concert.

The Kalmia Garden Music and Arts Foundation is in its sixth year of offering chamber music concerts in an intimate farmhouse setting. Tickets at $25 are available on line at kalmiagardenmusicandarts.org or by calling Kalmia Garden Board President Bob Donahue at 203 215-1942.
