All current CFO Leadership Council members may attend this program for free. Non-member senior financial executives who are CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Directors of Finance and Controllers (or the like) are welcome to attend this program for $65.

About our Speakers

Michael Bek, Partner, KPMG
Michael Bek is a Partner in KPMG’s Management Consulting practice with over 30 years of combined industry and consulting experience. Throughout his career, he has aided companies in the strategy and execution of transformation programs yielding several billion dollars in revenue enhancement and cost reduction. This includes driving performance improvements within finance, operations, and supply chain; establishing key performance indicator and metrics frameworks, executing acquisitions and divestitures; performing selections and implementations of many ERP / best of breed applications. Michael has provided functional and technical expertise in the areas of engineering, planning, procurement, finance, order management, manufacturing, distribution, maintenance/repair and human resources across numerous industries.


Eric Friedlander, CEO & Owner, Starpoint Health, Inc.
Mr. Friedlander became involved with Starpoint Health, Inc., an owner and operator of 4 outpatient surgery centers in southern California, on a consulting basis in 1997 and joined as its CEO in 2001. Starpoint has grown from approximately $4 million in revenues to nearly $30 million over the past 16 years; with the growth predominately coming over the last 8 years. The Company now performs nearly 16,000 surgeries annually and has 600 employees and doctors under its umbrella, Eric has helped guide the company through its transition from a family then an entrepreneurial venture to a professionally managed corporation with institutional investors. His previous experience includes international contract litigation with Cravath, investment banking with Bank of America, and a CFO/Real Estate Development role with ArcLight Cinema Company. Mr. Friedlander graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Eric regularly guest lectures at the Anderson School at UCLA, the Marshall School at USC, the UC Irvine entrepreneurial program, ACG, Vistage, and California State Fullerton Family Business Council Program. Eric lived in Newport Beach for 14 years and has been living in west Sonoma for the past 7 years.

Peter Hernandez, CFO, Payne & Fears
Senior Finance Executive Manager responsible for executing the financial strategy of the Firm. Initiate and provide leadership in the planning and monitoring of short and long-term strategic overall business and financial objectives. Manage financial controls and accounting procedures while also actively engaging with owners on optimizing tax and financial objectives. Support executive committed with strategic decision-making by performing proactive financial analysis, providing independent thought leadership and making recommendations associated with investment cash flow trends and capital deployment. Primary liaison for client trust maintenance and reporting. Provide timely and accurate preparation and analysis of budgets, financial trends, forecast and consolidation (firm wide and local offices) reporting while also managing such processes. Ensure accurate and timely client billing in order to meet cash flow requirements. Oversees review and recommendation of approval of timekeeper guidelines and exception billing rates, time entry, invoicing, client cost advances, prepayments, cash application and collections. Responsible for implementation acceptance and enhancements of Legal Management System (LMS) within Firm.

Kourosh Kohanteb, Vice President Finance, Consultant
Kourosh Kohanteb is a seasoned Corporate Finance executive, with broad based experiences with a variety of High technology and healthcare organizations. He is currently consulting with a growing healthcare organization involved in Mergers and acquisitions. Prior to his current position, Kourosh had a career at Broadcom Corporation with a number of senior level finance leadership roles including Vice president of Finance leading FP&A, leading Financial Systems, Supporting Worldwide Operations, and supporting General and Administrative Functions. During his tenure, the company grew from $0.5B to $8.4B in annual revenue and from less than 1,000 to over 12,000 employees. Prior to joining Broadcom, Kourosh held a career at Western Digital, including Manufacturing controller for Asia, an Expatriate position residing in Singapore, Financial Planning and Analysis Director, Research and Development Controller, and Internal Audit Manager. He started his professional career in public Accounting in London with a U.K. national firm, completed his Chartered Accountancy qualification in England, and received his CPA qualifications in California. He serves on the Board of AIDS Services Foundation of Orange County, a non-profit foundation. Kourosh graduated from University of Manchester, England with an honors B.Sc. degree in Computer Information Systems.

Michael S. Saddik, CEO, Built On Vision
Michael S. Saddik is an accomplished strategic executive and brings over 25 years of extensive domestic and international experience in client services, business operations and technical issue resolution. Michael has played a key role in establishing various corporate initiatives including technical, customer service, and sales departments in the technology and wireless industry. He is currently CEO of Built On Vision, a leading SaaS software for project control.

Previously, as an Executive team member of NextWeb, Michael led and coordinated client operations teams, participated in due diligence engagements related to acquisitions of five companies by private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers. Michael was instrumental in complete turnaround of an under-performing sales team; set higher expectations and instituted individual team-member accountability resulting in 300% revenue increase over two years. He directed the organic growth engine of the company with all elements of net new monthly reoccurring revenue (MRR) generation, including sales. Prior to this experience Michael was responsible for the development on an international PC manufacturing company marketing services/products overseas. He created manufacturing processes, factories, assembly line, shipping and receiving processes; as well as corporate identity and branding.

Michael serves as a Board Member for The Lupus Foundation of Northern California, a non-profit organization since 2005. He has a MBA from Pepperdine University with an emphasis on executive leadership."
