The theme for our 6th annual Summit is "Planting Seeds in Napi's Territory"

About this Event

Please join us for the 6th Annual Miohpokoiiyiiksi Kainai Ecosystem Protection Association (KEPA) Summit; this year’s theme is “Planting Seeds in Napi’s Territory" and will focus on Climate Change impacts in relation to Food Security and Food Sovereignty. KEPA is excited to partner with the Blood Tribe Land Management department and the Blackfoot Confederacy on this year’s Summit!

This event is open to all Blood Tribe members, Blackfoot Confederacy (Piikani, Aamskapipiikani, Kainai and Siksika) members, non-members, students, and all interested organizations. This event is targeted towards anyone wanting to learn and participate in presentations and field tours concerning environmental issues that affect our land and our way of life.

Some highlights for this year’s event include the following:

1. A tipi camp for participants

2. Traditional Buffalo slaughter demonstration followed with BBQ on Day 1

3. Plant Walk and Traditional Sites tour on Day 2
