Kent State University's Walk a Mile in Their Shoes 2017
Tue, April 11, 2017, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM EDT
Please join the SRVSS Office and Women's Center for Kent State University's annual Walk a Mile in Their Shoes march to put an end to sexual assault and gender violence. This year, our event will be held on April 11th from 4:30-6:30pm in the Student Green to hear speakers, participate in activities, and walk for a very important cause.
The National Criminal Justice Reference Service estimates that One in Five women and One in Sixteen men are sexually assaulted while in college (Krebs et al, 2007); however, the prevalence may be higher because more than 90% of sexual assault victims do not report the crime (Fisher et al, 2000). With your help, we can educate the Kent State community on sexual assault and gender violence to create a community actively working to prevent these crimes.
Registration 4:30-5pm (@Student Green)
Walk 5:30-6pm (along Esplanade)
Final Remarks 6-6:30pm
