    Demystifying Reference-Based Pricing
Sandy Walters, Chief Industry Information Officer, KELLY

Reference-Based Pricing is an emerging cost-containment strategy in which there is no network of providers. Instead, provider reimbursement is set at a percentage of an established benchmark – typically Medicare. KELLY's Chief Industry Information Officer, Sandy Walters, will review “RBP 101,” and explain why this strategy may be a feasible option for your health plan. He will also share case studies of clients realizing significant savings on medical costs by implementing an RBP model.

  • 9:30-9:45 a.m.
    Break

  • 9:45-10:45 a.m.
    Tackling the ER Overutilization Dilemma
    Panel Discussion

Emergency Room costs are often one of the top drivers of medical claims in employee benefit plans, a financial burden that falls on plan sponsors and members. Members often view the ER as their only option for immediate care, leading to visits for non-emergencies. In this panel discussion, participants will discuss strategies to mitigate ER utilization and associated costs by redirecting care to telemedicine, primary care and urgent care. Panelists include key contributors from KELLY’s consulting, data analytics and communications teams, as well 98point6–a cutting-edge point solution for on-demand text-based primary care.
