Event description
The Power of Human: How Our Shared Humanity Can Help Us Create a Better World

About this Event

Please join us on Wednesday, Oct. 9th, for an exciting evening with Professor Adam Waytz and Sharmila Mulligan '92, Chief Strategy Officer for Alteryx. They will discuss Professor Waytz's new book, The Power of Human: How Our Shared Humanity Can Help Us Create a Better World.

The unprecedented access to other humans that technology provides has ironically freed us from engaging with them. We now know a politician’s campaign platform, an avid travelers restaurant recommendations and the daily emotional fluctuations of our acquaintances. Professor Waytz argues that our increasingly human free lives come at a serious cost: the loss of our humanity.

The Power of Human shows us, both employers and workers, how to rehumanize and strengthen our relationships with both friends and enemies by utilizing the influence we have on each other.
