Hey Everyone! Let's get together and reunite! We have a weekend filled with fun. Go ahead and mark your calendar for October 14-16th and plan your visit!
Friday night, come out to Chicho's at Strawbridge for the unofficial Reunion before the Reunion! Why Chicho's? Well, not only are you supporting a local business kept alive by a fellow KHS96 alum, but they have also sponsored our DJ for the big event!
Saturday—who wants to see what KHS looks like 20 years later? You too? Good! We've scheduled a tour of the new building for 9am. Backpacks and Letterman jackets optional.
Got youngn's? There's a group of KHS96 alumni headed with their families to the Virginia Aquarium around 10am to keep everyone busy before naptime.
Not feeling the Aquarium, but interested in some sun and fun (well, let's hope for sun)? Pack up the family/friends/parents/hungry looking people in the KHS school zone and head to Little Island at Sandbridge beach. Bring a cooler, sunscreen, some food for the grill, and you'll likely find faces you know there. There's a kids' play area, bathhouse, and beach facilities. And if you need coffee before the trip, stop across the street at Baja Coffee to support another KHS96 family member.
Still not tired of seeing everyone? Good! The main event:
Saturday night, grab that outfit that makes you feel 10 lbs lighter and 8 years younger (right, that's the goal?) and head out to the Oceanaire Resort Hotel at the oceanfront. Be there by 7pm so you can watch everyone make their "fashionably late" appearance and be the first to Guess the Alum as we all walk through the doors. Plan on a babysitter through 11pm, so we can have some hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and hear a playlist that we'll all know all the words to, but won't admit in public.
Hungry on Sunday morning? Stay tuned for where we'll all be eating, then you can decide whether you'll stay away or join the crowd.
Hope to see you there!
Questions? You in the back?
1. Hey! I feel like bringing a spouse/friend/anyone that will come with me. Can I?
Yes, we planned on it! We have ticket options for everyone. Just don't tell them how old we are.
2. So....I went to school with y'all for a couple years, then I had to go to Ocean Lakes. I missed you guys! Can I come see everyone?
Absolutely! We forget y'all didn't actually graduate with us, so you'll just blend in anyways. Grab a ticket and make it happen!
3. That's really cool that we have a DJ sponsored by a KHS96 Alumni. I want in. What do I have to do to get you to mention my company's name?
We're so glad you asked! First of all, be sure to thank Ed Stockunas and his partners in Chicho's for providing some music. We're looking for sponsorships to make the day even better. Feel like upgrading the bar package? Interested in making a photo booth happen? Want more food? Great! Just click the sponsorship button and we'll be sure that everyone knows your company has had a part in the event.
4. What can I expect when I get there? Are we eating? Is there an open bar?
Your ticket covers food and a limited selection at the bar. We'll be having small plate items, so you may want to have dinner before you come. Please tip your bartenders, or we can't promise what'll end up in your glass. Also, valet—tip them when they retreive your car.
5. I'm traveling from out of town or don't want to drive after the event. Where can I stay?
We support responsibiity. The Oceanaire has blocked some rooms off for us, just call and let them know you'll be at the reunion and receive a reduced rate.
6. I'm not sure I want to go yet. How can I see who's going?
Head over to Facebook and join the Kellam Class of 1996 group/page and we'll keep you updated on who's in and what's going on.
7. What if I buy tickets and can't go?
Whaaaat!? You can't miss your 20-year reunion! But if something happens, refunds will be given on a case-by-case basis. We cannot refund any tickets 1-week prior to the event, as we have to pay for the venue.
8. I have more questions, I just can't think of them now. What happens when I do?
Head over to our FB page and feel free to post a question. You still don't have facebook? Send an email to one of the organizers below. We'll get back to you!
9. I can't be there. Will there be pictures?
You know it! We're all leaving our StarTac phones at home, (1996 anyone?) but we'll be posting on FB and Instagram. Be sure to look for our hashtag #KellamHS96 and you'll get to see the fun!
