Keeping Warm in Older Properties - Stirling

This event is for anyone living in an older property - whether a period home or rural property - who finds their home hard to heat, or to keep warm.
Home Energy Scotland has brought together a number of industry specialists to offer help and guidance, and who will cover all elements of energy conservation and heat loss including glazing, draught proofing and insulation.
Expert speakers include Dr Moses Jenkins from Historic Environment Scotland, Home Energy Scotland’s Technical Specialists and members of the Green Homes Network - people who have already implemented energy efficiency measures in their homes and are happy to share their experiences. You can also meet specialist installers who have experience of working in older buildings.
After short informative talks that will include information out about technical support and funding available to help improve energy efficiency, you will have the chance to meet and speak with the specialists on hand.

Who is this event for?
Anyone who lives in an older property (pre 1919) who finds their home hard to heat, or to keep warm, this includes Victorian period homes.
What Energy Efficiency measures will be covered at the event?
The experts will discuss a range of measures from solid wall insulation, draught proofing, glazing, window shutters to installing renewable energy solutions. If you are interested in a specific element of your property our Home Energy Scotland advisors will be able to assist.
Which Installers will be at the event?
An installer has been invited who is experienced in working in older buildings and can cover draught proofing and solid wall insulation, internal and external.
I would like tailored advice for my home – can I get this at the event?
Yes Home Energy Scotland advisors will be in attendance. They can discuss your property and arrange for a home visit; where qualified staff can attend your home and make recommendations about what improvements you can make to your property.
Can I connect with householders who live in older properties and who have improved the energy efficiency of their property? What is a Green Homes Network Member?
Yes, we can introduce you to our Green Homes Network. A member is a person who has installed energy efficiency measures in their home. They are happy to share their experience of installing the measure and the benefits the measure has made to their property. Will I get refreshments?
Yes – tea and coffee is served at the start of the event.
Can I ask questions of the speakers?
Yes we have a dedicated Q+A session and there is time at the end of the presentations when you can ask questions.
