On Thursday, November 30th, 2017, we will be holding a community reception to observe AIDS Healthcare Foundation's 30th anniversary. The event will take place at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Jackson Blvd., from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition to the panel discussion, our program for the evening includes hors d'oeuvres and drinks, a screening of Keeping the Promise: AHF 30 Years, a documentary depicting AHF's beginnings to its current status, and a discussion panel on the state of HIV/AIDS in Chicago, Illinois.

Our panelists include:

  • Eduardo Alvarado, Chief, HIV/AIDS Section, Illinois Department of Public Health

  • David Kern, Deputy Commissioner, HIV/STI Bureau, Chicago Department of Public Health

  • Brenda Simmons, Consumer, Activist and Advocate

  • Omar N. López, Executive Director, CALOR

  • Vanessa Smith, Executive Director, South Side Help Center

This year AHF observes 30 years of service to the HIV/AIDS community which started in 1987 and has expanded its reach and services worldwide to provide “Cutting Edge Medicine and Advocacy regardless of Ability to Pay”.
