Event description

Description

Civic engagement doesn't end at the ballot box. How do we hold the people we put into office accountable? Learn how you can do that on the local level with activist, Cea Weaver.

Workshop Instructor: Cea Weaver

Cea Weaver is the campaign coordinator of the Upstate Downstate Housing Alliance. Cea works with 70 organizations across New York State that represent tenants and homeless New Yorkers in their fight to strengthen tenant protections, increase investment in social housing, and end homelessness. In 2019, Cea coordinated a statewide effort to pass historic housing legislation that is already working to reduce evictions and increase housing stability in New York State.

This workshop is part of our Active Civic Engagement series in partnership with Beyond Barnard. Join us to find out how you can shape your community, your state and your country through political participation.
