About this event

This fun run is the 1st Annual event in celebration of KCNA2 Awareness Day (August 31). The event itself is to gather together and raise awareness. If you would like to donate to our non-profit organization you can do so here. We are working to fund more research studies and discover more treatment options. Currently, there is no cure or treatment for all patients, but we are working hard to find one.

What is KCNA2?

KCNA2 epileptic encephalopathy is a seizure disorder caused by a mutation on the KCNA2 potassium channel. The mutation causes the potassium channel to function improperly resulting in a variety of complications for each individual, ranging from intractable seizures to developmental and cognitive delays.
