KCL Film Studies Festival Opening Night with special guest Aniel Karia featuring his multiple short films.

Screening: Work, Tag, Beat and Switch.

Q+A session with filmmaker Aneil Karia, gain an insight into his career as a prominent young filmmaker.

Aneil studied Directing at the National Film and Television School. His graduation piece – Spilt Milk - won the Royal Television Society Student Award and has since been broadcast by the BBC. Upon graduating - having been named as a 2009 ‘Hotshot’ by Broadcast Magazine - he began directing music videos with artists including Jonsi, Wave Machines, Deptford Goth and Dizzee Rascal, as well as commercials for brands such asCoca Cola and Nintendo. In Summer 2012 he directed the countdown to the Olympics Opening Ceremony as well as several idents used throughout the show.

In 2013 Aneil made BEAT, his first short film (starring Ben Whishaw). It screened at over 50 festivals worldwide including Edinburgh, Warsaw, Rhode Island, Melbourne, Brest European Short Film Festival, Slamdance and Encounters, where the film won the New European Talent Award. In June 2014 he was announced as one of Screen International's ‘Stars of Tomorrow’.

In 2016, Aneil directed 2 further short films; SWITCH commissioned by Film London, and most recently, WORK commissioned by Film4, while developing his debut feature with Rooks Nest Entertainment and Creative England to shoot this year, starring Ben Whishaw. He is currently directing Series 3 of LOVESICK for Netflix.
