The King County Emergency Planning Institute (KCEPI) offers trainings for community and faith-based organizations on preparedness planning.Trainings are designed and led by emergency management and outreach professionals with experience supporting local organizations in their preparedness efforts. They are designed to strengthen the organization’s ability to effectively respond when facing the unexpected. Participants will gain a better understanding of what makes an effective preparedness plan, and a road map for improving existing plans and procedures to ensure organizational success during disasters and emergencies. Two separate sessions provide a building block approach to plan development and improvement.
- Understand the importance of promoting personal preparedness throughout your organization
- Understand the importance of an organizational continuity plan and the key elements of an effective plan
- Identify gaps in existing plans and outline a basic improvement plan
Audience: Staff tasked with writing plans or preparedness procedures for their organization and/or executive leadership with the ability to prioritize planning efforts
