Event description

Description

Have you heard that the Delaware River supplies 15 million people with their drinking water – including all of Philadelphia? Join Independence Seaport Museum for an eco-adventure to learn more about the Delaware River watershed and the important role it plays in the local ecosystem. Find out how the health of the river has been transformed since the passing of the Clean Water Act and learn about easy steps you can take to improve the health of your local waterways.

Go for a leisurely two-hour paddle and learn about your local waterway. Suitable for beginner paddlers.

Cost of excursion includes kayak rental, paddle and PFD.

All excursions are guided and include a safety orientation and kayaking introduction. Life jackets must be worn at all times. Event attendees must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Paddling times depend on weather conditions, tides, experience, and guided stops. Return times are estimates. Please arrive 30 minutes early. We will be leaving promptly at departure time. Paddles may be canceled for inclement weather events, such as wind, excessive heat or excessive rain, and registered attendees will be notified ideally 12-24 hours beforehand. Refunds will only be issued if the event is canceled due to weather.
