About this event

  • 12 hours
  • Mobile eTicket

Don't miss out on Mankato's next great fundraising event! Sign up as an individual or gather your friends and co-workers and form a team of up to 7. Register each participant then designate one individual (or the whole team if you want) to spend the night of March 31st sleeping out to raise funds for Connections Shelter, learn about homelessness in Mankato, and compete with other groups to raise the most!

Raise Funds! Set a recommended goal of raising $500 per participant. If your team can raise at least $3500, you earn a "You were housed" card and can check out at midnight to sleep in your own bed! Those who register as an individual and can raise at least $500 also receive a midnight check out!

Network for donated items: Throughout the event, teams can work to collect items to be dropped off. The more you collect, the fewer hours you sleep outside! Items to be collected include individually wrapped snacks, coffee, powdered drink mix (lemonade, ice tea, gatorade) toilet paper, and loose change. All items collected will be used at Connections shelter.

Sleeping Out: Participants are allowed one backpack with items they choose to survive the night. Each participant will be provided a tarp, hand warmers, dinner, snacks, and a tote bag as part of their registration at check in. Participants are also allowed to bring a sleeping bag or a blanket. Dinner will be served and coffee, cocoa, and hot tea will be available all night.

Which business/ team will walk away with the inaugural Kato Sleep Out Trophy? It takes the whole community to solve homelessness. Be part of the solution and walk away a winner! (When we work together, everyone wins....but only one gets the trophy!)
