Kathy Greenholdt, Violet Clare, and Sheepish
Overview
Join us on the evening of Thursday, January 8th for a series of performances in the singer-songwriter genre from Kathy Greenholdt, Violet Clare, and Maya Llewellyn (Sheepish).
About the artists:
Chicago singer-songwriter Kathy Greenholdt wrangles with human desires, spiritual questions, and the natural world in brightly dark folk-rock. In 2002, at age 38, Kathy learned to play guitar and wrote her first song. Since then, she has issued nine collections of original music. In 2026, Kathy will enter the studio again to record new songs based on personal events and societal questions. For more information, visit www.KathyGreenholdt.com
Violet Clare, the moniker used by 21-year-old songwriter Violet Bowdle, aims to be authentic and unapologetically human. Originally from East Grand Rapids, Michigan, a town she has often referred to as her muse, she began writing stories of all kinds as soon as she could hold a pencil. Violet Clare weaves themes of guilt, change, childhood, humanity, and nature through her lyrically-focused alternative indie folk music.
Sheepish is the songwriting project of Chicago-based musician Maya Llewellyn. Falling somewhere between indie rock and folk, their music tangles together the ambiguous, the unsaid, and the magic of real life. This is Maya’s debut show as an adult Chicagoan— she is excited to play with her friends Violet and Kathy.
