Montréal-born, NYC-based jazz singer songwriter, Kate Chaston, creates lush musical tapestries with her earth-toned story-songs interwoven with shades of pop, folk, and r&b, and a silky thread of funny patter. Together, Kate and her band, the Elements, step out in style. Featuring Nicky Barbato (Paul Schafer, Omar Hakim) on guitar, Jay Sawyer (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Freddy Cole) on drums, and Gary Wang (Patricia Barber, Jane Monheit) on bass.
Tessa Souter will be performing some of the songs from her new album Picture in Black and White, a London Times Top Ten Jazz CD of the Year, inspired by her discovery at age 28 that her birth father was black.
