"Karestan" documentary film series

These documentary films series are the story of Iranian entrepreneurs (men and women) who, both in big and small terms, take risks and change their lives and those of others by creating innovative ideas and values. Their impact, although confined to a small scale and within a limited and local geography, will bring about an inspiring atmosphere for change. 

There will be a Q&A session (video conference) with Ms. Rakhshan Banitemad, Mr. Mojtaba Mirtahmasb and directors and some of the documentaries main characters following after screening the movies at 9PM April 28th, 2018.

1) Poets Of Life   ( Showtime 5PM April 28th)
Directed by: Shirin Barghnavard
2017 / 73 mins, Persian with English Subtitles

Poetic portrayal of the life of Shirin Parsi - rice farmer, environmentalist, and social activist.


2) Friends at Work    ( Showtime 6:30 PM April 28th)
Directed by: Mohsen Abdolvahab
2017 / 49 mins, Persian with English Subtitles
In post-revolutionary war-torn Iran, a group of engineering classmates start their own industrial revolution just as most industry in the country is shutting down.


3) MAHAK: A World She Founded (Showtime  7:30 PM April 28th)
Directed by: Mohsen Abdolvahab
2017 / 57 mins, Persian with English Subtitles
After her daughter is diagnosed with cancer, Saideh Ghods establishes MAHAK, Iran's most respected charity for treating children afflicted by the disease.
