Karen for Balls 2017
Sat, April 29, 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
April is Testicular Cancer Awareness month. Karen for Balls is our equivalent to Barbells for Boobs--cancer doesn't discriminate and neither do we! All net proceeds from this event go to The Testicular Cancer Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to raise awareness for the most common form of cancer in men age 15-35. We are dedicated to increasing awareness and education about the disease and providing support for fighters, survivors and caregivers.
The signature KAREN FOR BALLS workout is a 3-person team wall ball train:
450 wall ball shots for time, where the rules specify that athletes may not catch their own wall ball shot. A 5 burpee penalty is drawn (to be performed by the entire team) if the same athlete catches his/her own throw or if the team's ball touches the ground. Men's teams use a 20# ball and must hit the 10' target; women's teams use a 14# ball and must hit a 9' target. Any co-ed teams must use the 20#/10' target. All wall ball shots must begin with a full-depth squat, and all teams' reps are counted by a judge to ensure proper movements.
