Event description

I hope that you are ready for a good time, because KANZI Fest 2018 is right around the corner!

May 18-19, 2018 will be a weekend that will give you everything!

We want to help you make the most of it, so we have created the Party Pac that gives you a discounted rate for the bundle. General admission to KANZI Fest at Southdown Park is FREE on Saturday, as is the Movie Under The Stars on Friday night. But we do have a few paid events that are fundraisers for Kemetyu Global Economic Development Corporation (that's us!). We are a 501c3 and your donation is tax deductable.

With the Party Pac you get admission to the following:

  • Akwaaba Networking Mixer: Co-Hosted by Black Cyber Street, Friday, May 18th, 6:30 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriot Houston Pearland's The Bistro. Special guest will be filmmaker Jonathan Milton. Jonathan will chat about our Movie Under The Stars feature: Do's and Don'ts of Dating.
  • KANZI'S Concert VIP Lounge, Saturday, May 19th, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Southdown Park. You get the best and most comfortable view of the main stage with hors d'oeuvres and wine (From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. while you enjoy the Shaun Ward Xperience!). Also performing: Galaxy Band (Caribbean), Samy Jo Band (Country, Blues, Rock & Roll), Grupo Batacha (Afro-Latin), Genesis Blu and Akilah Nehanda(Conscious Hip-Hop), Hope Autumn (Neo Soul), MYOA (Contemporary Nigerian Soul/Pop/Jazz), and Antonio Eye (Afro Punk, Funk).
  • The Quiet Party @ Village Square, Saturday, May 19th, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Six different DJs with six different musical genres: DJ Tony Motley (House), DJ David Joice (Chicago Steppin'), DJ Omu (AfroBeats), DJ Norro (Reggae, Dancehall, Soca), DJ ThrillSeekah (Hip-Hop, R&B), and DJ Silent Killa (Afro-Latin). Get your dance on or chill on the grass. *Don't forget your blanket and/or lawn chair.
  • Black Panther themed Casino Night After Party at Daiqritas. Includes starter chips.

Didn't I tell you that this weekend will owe you NOTHING! All for only $75! *If tickets purchased individually cost would be $90.

All proceeds go to this, and future KGEDC Initiatives.
