Event description

Description

The Kansas Canoe and Kayak Association Spring Rendezvous will be April 19-21 at Clinton Lake State Park outside of Lawrence, Kansas. Campsites 265 and 266 have been reserved in Campground 3 for the group. There will be bright colored reserved signs posted at the sites with KCKA listed on them.

Camping for the event is free but you will need a daily vehicle permit if you do not already have the annual vehicle permit.

Check in and camp setup will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19. Bring everything you need to be self-sufficient for the weekend and don't forget your REQUIRED lifejacket. A short safety and paddling instruction will be given Friday evening. Depending weather and interest, the group will go for a sunset paddle around the lake.

Saturday morning we will participate in a group service project doing a trash pickup for the State Park before paddling. Pack a lunch if you plan to join the group for the full-day paddle on either the Wakarusa River or Rock Creek. Saturday evening we will go into town for supper.

There will be an optional short paddle on Sunday morning before we break camp and head for home.

The event is FREE but registration is required.
