This July, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is celebrating Nutrition Month in the Philippines as part of the National Year of Rice.

We are inviting a select group of journalists to join us for a special media day on health and nutrition issues related to rice - Kanin Get It! - at our Los Baños campus.

During the day, you will meet experts on nutrition, grain quality, rice contamination, and high-nutrient rice showcasing the latest and most exciting of IRRI's research in these fields. Plus, you will participate in a rice tasting activity, see some Golden Rice, tour the International Rice Genebank, and watch rice being milled.

  • Visit the Golden Rice screenhouse: see our high-nutrient rice that contains a source of vitamin A (Golden Rice) aimed at helping reduce vitamin A deficiency.
  • Watch rice being milled: learn how rice is turned from a seed into brown rice and further milled to create white rice.
