Join us for our first Kain Na Tayo - “Let’s Eat” cooking demonstration with Silayan Filipina sister, Ana Torres.

About this Event

Ana will teach her techniques in preparation, cooking and plating the traditional Filipino dish, Pork Sparerib Afritada.

An introduction and history of the dish and its origins will be shared by Silayan Filipina’s Director of Public Realtions, Amor Lacerna-Burila and Director of Arts & Culture, Evelyn Leano.

2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

6 cloves of garlic

3 small dried thai chili (optional)

1 medium onion diced in small cubes

2 whole roma tomatoes

1 medium size slab of spareribs cut 1.5”

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons of ground black pepper

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup of lemon juice

1/2 cup of water

1 tablespoon of sugar

4 bay leaves

2 teaspoon of tomato paste

2 tablespoons of ketchup

2 tablespoons of Banana Ketchup

1 whole green bell pepper cut in triangles

1 whole red bell pepper cut in triangles

Patis

3 golden potatoes

1 cup frozen green peas
