Event description

Description

On Tuesday, November 20, Partners in Development Foundation will be celebrating the completion of Ka Baibala Hemolele. Based on the original Hawaiian Bible produced in the 19th century, this edition is the first bilingual Hawaiian-English Bible to have diacritical markings. It is the result of over 15 years' hard work and dedication from dozens of scholars, teachers and volunteers.

This launch event, sponsored by the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site & Archive, will feature a half hour organized program from 6 to 6:30 PM. The buildings will be open for tours for the duration of the event with special exhibitions on display. Heavy pūpū will be served.

Parking will be available after 5:00 PM at the Kawaiahaʻo Plaza parking structure, entrance on Kawaiahaʻo Street. Vehicles must be removed by 8:30 PM.

Ka Baibala Hemolele is available for purchase through both Partners in Development Foundation and Mutual Publishing, and will be on sale at the event. For more information, contact our main office at (808) 595-2752.

We whole heartedly thank the Atherton Family Foundation and Kamehameha Schools, without whose sponsorship and support this release would not be possible.
