Event description

Description

The Ritenour School District, in partnership with the Innovative Technology in Education Fund, is very excited to host this project-based learning workshop. Led by three teacher leaders from High Tech Schools in San Diego (as seen in the documentary Most Likely to Succeed) this is sure to be a unique opportunity for learning and inspiration.

These teacher leaders represent all three levels of High Tech Schools: a high school engineering teacher, a middle school humanities teacher, as well as a 2nd/3rd grade elementary teacher.

This opportunity will take place at the Ritenour High School Auditorium on Saturday, October 21st, from 11 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. Lunch, included with your registration, will begin at 11 a.m., along with opening remarks and an overview of the afternoon.

Topics to be covered include:
  • Design thinking for project-based learning educators
  • Ideation & Idea Development: Where do projects come from?
  • Memorable, high-impact learning that ties to standards
  • Critiquing Colleagues: Using structure to facilitate powerful, positive conversations that improve PBL plans
This workshop can be applicable to any content area and any grade, and will be useful to all experience levels of project-based learning. All you need is a passion for finding new, innovative, and meaningful ways to deliver content to your students.
