Juvenile Criminal Legal System

Facilitator: Byram Simpson

Developed by: Annarose Krug and Maddison Storey

This advanced track training is an overview of the Juvenile Criminal Legal System in King County. Young people without consistent, stable housing are at increased risk of policing and court involvement. Over the course of 3 hours we will assess our current understanding of the system, identify the most common charges young people face, what diversion programs currently exist, biases young people face before and throughout system contact, and how social systems of homelessness and criminalization reinforce one another.

This training is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday March 6th at Renton Technical College ANNEX (3407 NE 2nd St, Renton, WA 98056)
