Event Details

The JustUs Health Opportunity Conference is one of the largest LGBTQ health conferences in the Midwest. Join us April 18, 2020 for this year’s Opportunity Conference – Advancing LGBTQ & HIV Health Equity - A Community Day.

Saturday, April 18 will focus on education and discussion for community members who are interested in the issues of health equity and things that affect healthy outcomes. This portion of the conference will be held at the Minneapolis Community and Technical College in Minneapolis Park, MN.

Nationally there are very few LGBTQ focused conferences and an even smaller number of those focus on health and health policies for LGBTQ communities and people who are living with HIV and/or AIDS. Previous Opportunity Conferences have been focused on health providers and practitioners, researchers, and policy makers. This year's conference includes one of the most critical audiences in the health equity discussion - our community! We estimate more than 200 individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives will participate in this community education event.

The schedule will include plenary keynote speaking opportunities and as many as 15 breakout sessions on a wide range of LGBTQ and HIV health related topics.

The host organization, JustUs Health is an LGBTQ health advocacy and HIV-supportive service organization located in Minnesota. The mission of JustUs Health is to work for equitable health care access and outcomes for people who experience injustice at the intersection of health status and identity. Their work is centered on individuals and communities at risk of and living with HIV or facing barriers to equitable health care access and outcomes because of their identity as gender, sexual and/ or racial minorities. Learn more at JustUsHealth.org
