Event description

Description

The Center for Canadian Studies is pleased to welcome distinguished Carleton University historian Norman Hillmer to discuss the lessons and insights from the newest volume in the venerable Canada Among Nations series, Justin Trudeau and Canadian Foreign Policy (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2018) which Hillmer co-edited with his colleague Philippe Lagassé, who holds the William and Jeanie Barton Chair at Carleton’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. At Carleton, Professor Hillmer is the Chancellor’s Professor of History and International Affairs. Christopher Sands, Director of the Center for Canadian Studies (and a graduate of Professor Hillmer’s course on the History of Canada-U.S. Relations) will introduce Professor Hillmer, and Richard Madden, Washington Correspondent for CTV News and a Carleton University alumnus, will interview Professor Hillmer and moderate audience questions if the news that day permits.
