Description

This training is designed for OPWDD providers to assist them in understanding the Justice Center and the corresponding statute. A thorough review of the Justice Center Code of Conduct and suggested best practices for helping staff understand its purpose will be discussed. The session will also cover the role of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities’ Incident Management Unit as well as an overview of the 624 and 625 regulations. This training is not designed for incident investigators but rather to give clarity to direct support professionals and front line managers regarding the role of both the Justice Center and OPWDD with regards to incident reporting.


The session will cover the following:

  • Mission and Vision of the Justice Center
  • Statutes and Regulations
  • OPWDD 624 and 625 Regulations
  • Code of Conduct and how to best support staff
