This will be the third annual Justice 4 All Juneteenth Jam for the city of Grand Rapids. The event is a celebration of African American culture, and pays homage to Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day. This holiday celebrates the emancipation of the African Americans citizens who had been enslaved in the United States of America. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the Civil war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.

This is a free event for the public supported by Justice 4 All, LLC and The City of Grand Rapids.
