THE PARAMOUNT HAS BEEN HUMMING ALONG AS THE LAST SURVIVING BALLROOM VENUE FOR CLOSE TO 100 YEARS.
Located in the historic Boyle Heights community of Los Angeles, The Paramount has been humming along as the last surviving ballroom venue featuring mid-sized concerts for close to 100 years. The room’s 400 person capacity allows it to host a wide variety of acts, from internationally touring bands, to fast-rising indie rock bands to popular local artists. Offstage, the Paramount offers a top-flight experience, from its restored architecture and spacious main floor to the full bar and a chef-driven food menu and cocktails. The Paramount has a wide range of events during the regular week and weekend and features a diverse calendar of musical and arts performances. The Paramount was designed and restored for the music and arts lover and pays respect to the hundreds of performers that have played on our stage.
LOGAN RICHARDSON
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, saxophonist Logan Richardson hails from a city with a rich historical lineage of improvised music. By the age of 16 Richardson had begun performing professionally, and at 19 he left for Boston to attend the Berklee School of Music, followed by a move to New York City to attend the New School University. In NYC Richardson began performing, recording, and touring internationally with artists including Joe Chambers, Billy Hart, Butch Morris, Greg Osby, Stefon Harris and Jason Moran. Richardson has released two prior albums as a leader – 2007’s Cerebral Flow (Fresh Sound, New Talent) and 2008’s Ethos (Inner Circle Music) – and was part of NEXT Collective which released the album Cover Art (Concord Jazz) in 2013. In 2016 Richardson releases his Blue Note Records debut Shift featuring an impressive band of musical visionaries including guitarist Pat Metheny, pianist Jason Moran, bassist Harish Raghavan, and drummer Nasheet Waits.
