Event description

Description

In Colorado, you must work 74 hours per week at minimum wage to afford a modest one-bedroom rental, nearly two full-time jobs. With the widening gap between wages and the cost of living in the state, “just getting a job” does not end homelessness itself. This month’s panel will discuss the barriers to employment for people experiencing homelessness, the value of education and skills training in the workforce, and the fight for a livable wage.

In 2019, let's IGNITE THOUGHT and INCITE CHANGE through thoughtful conversations with leaders in the field of housing, homelessness, and poverty.

Our 2019 Education Series is FREE and open to the public. For special accomodations (we request one week's notice) or questions, please email Meredith Ritchie at mritchie@coloradocoalition.org.

These educational events are part of an eleven-part series of topics impacting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in our communities, guided by audience interest and questions. Click here to see other Education Series topics in 2019.
