Tutorial: From Hero to Zero with Jupyter Notebook
Join Dark Art of Coding for a 3-hour hands-on session, where they will help you install Jupyter, configure it and then create your first fully formed Jupyter Notebook. You will learn to create notebooks that blend code with text to produce reports and graphs. They will demo the steps and help you replicate them yourself with side-saddle mentoring and fun learning activities.
Tech Talk: Jupyter & Markdown
Markdown solves a problem we all have: turning raw text into a well-formatted, easy to read document or web page. It allows you to use a simple text editor to create and edit richly marked-up documents in a very human-friendly syntax, so friendly that once you've been using it for about an hour you will just see the finished document in your mind as you're typing. Combined with Jupyter, Markdown enables you to write rich reports and analysis with embedded Python snippets that result in easy-to-read documents that can be updated with live data changes at the press of a button. In this talk, you will learn the basics of the Markdown language and how to use it for all your document-writing needs.
Tech Talk: Math and Art in Jupyter
Computatonal art can be a fan activity for several students or hobbyists. Jupyter is a great way to teach and show the various ways art, math, and programming intersect. This will be a fun tech talk focused on leveraging Jupyter to teach and present these aforementioned concepts.
Pupus will be served.
Who will be speaking? Stay tuned! We will provide updates as we get closer to the workshop.
