Event description

Take an intimate look inside some of Sarasota's most beautiful homes during the Junior League of Sarasota's 2018 Tour of Homes. Tickets availble on Eventbrite or at the door.

The 2018 Tour of Homes is Friday, February 23th and Saturday, February 24th and features some of the most amazing and interesting homes in Sarasota. You can take a guided tour with a Junior League docent or take a self-guided tour of the homes.

Throughout the day, there will be special culinary, cocktail, artisan, and floral demonstrations inside the homes.

A crowd favorite, the Cookies for a Cause Bake Sale, will be back again this year! Buy a box and fill it with as many home-baked cookies as you desire!

Homes will be located west of the trail from Siesta Key to Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores area. We have again included a variety of homes from Historic to Contemporary to Modern.

Tickets are $30 and available through Eventbrite or at the door. No refunds will be offered.

$30 of each general admission ticket purchased is tax-deductible.

$75 per ticket, valid for one day only.

This year, we are offering a limited number of seats each day for a VIP Trolley Tour available only through Eventbrite before the event. Relax and let our SRQ Trolley do the driving, while you enjoy a tour led by Sarasota's one and only Real Estate and Architecture expert, Harold Bubil. This special tour will begin at 11AM and will end between 1:30/2:00. We will meet in the Van Wezel parking lot. There are a limited number of seats available and they will go fast!

$65 of each VIP ticket purchased is tax-deductible.

We end the Tour on Saturday with "Toast of the Tour" Happy Hour from 4PM to 6PM at Libby's L Bar, 1917 S Osprey Ave. Admission is free! This promises to be a fun event and it is where we hold our very popular annual chance drawing and auction opportunities.

During the tour, you will also have the opportunity to participate in a chance drawing for some spectacular prizes. Must be present at Happy Hour for prizes.

What does the Junior League of Sarasota do?

The Junior League of Sarasota is a non-profit organization of trained, hands-on volunteers that has been working to address some of the most difficult issues Sarasota faces for more than 60 years. You may be familiar with some of our legacy projects, many of which are now separate organizations. We are responsible for the creation of organizations such as the Child Protection Center and Teen Court; built the first handicapped accessible playground; purchased and stocked household goods for new homes at Harvest House; etc. These are just a few of the charitable works that the Junior League has been a key part of. This year we have a focus on Hunger Outreach, working to diminish hunger in our local community.

When we recognize a crisis, our 250+ members turn hard-work and resources into solutions. One of the most challenging issues facing Sarasota is food insecurity, aka hunger. Through partnerships with organizations like All Faiths Food Bank and through JLS programs such as our Slow Cooker Education courses, we are working toward ending hunger in our community. Did you know that Florida has one of the highest child food-insecurity rates in the country? According to the Sarasota County Planning Services Division, one in every five children lives below the poverty level. More than 21,000 children in Sarasota County are at risk for hunger and you can help us reverse this trend. No child should have to worry about where their next meal will come from.

Attending the Tour of Homes means that you are not only going to have a great time and see some beautiful homes, but you are helping the Junior League of Sarasota help those in the community who need it the most.

The Junior League of Sarasota, Inc. (JLS) is a non-profit organization under Federal Tax Code 501(C)(3). Contributions made in support of JLS are tax deductible less goods and services received.

The Federal Tax ID number is 59-6159037. JLS is registered with the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs (registration number C5157) and receives 100 percent of all contributions. JLS does not contract with professional solicitors. A copy of the official registration and financial information may be obtained from the Florida Division of Consumer Services by calling toll free (800) 435-7352 within the State. Registration does not imply endorsement, approval or recommendation by the State.
