Junior League of Asheville's 2nd Annual Volunteer Expo
Event Information
About this Event
The Junior League of Asheville (JLA) will host the second annual Volunteer Expo on February 9th, 2019 from 10am to 3pm at the Crowne Plaza Expo Center. This event is free to the public and will be an opportunity for anyone to come and network with the many non-profit organizations rooted in the Buncombe County area. This year JLA is hosting 76 non-profits in the expo center, each with a booth and representatives available with materials to educate people on the work that they do and volunteer opportunities. It is similar to a job fair, but for volunteering.
Whether you are new to the Asheville area, about to move to the region, recently retired, or just now ready to devote time in volunteer service, this event is for you. If you are a local business owner who wants to learn about the non-profit organizations in the area, this is the only event that will house more than 70 organizations in one room for one day. It will be a great networking opportunity to meet the people behind these meaningful and necessary groups in Buncombe County.
Similar to last year, panel discussions will feature prominent members of the community. This year there will be two panels, one focusing on the JLA’s current impact area of helping children in the foster system due to poly-substance abuse and the other focusing on serving the community through volunteerism.
