Black Teachers of Nia are coming together in recognition of Juneteenth 2022
About this event
Known as the country's “second Independence Day,” Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of enslaved people in the United States at the end of the Civil War. For more than 150 years, African American communities across the country have observed this holiday as a celebration of Hope. Last year, Juneteenth was designated as an official U.S. Federal holiday.
As a holistic somatic movement practice Nia celebrates the body, inspires the mind, frees the spirit and embraces personal expression. A powerful fusion of dance, martial and healing arts, Nia is a holistic movement & wellness practice designed to address body, mind, emotion and spirit. With Nia you are guided to move in Your Body's Way. No prior experience is necessary. All fitness levels and abilities are welcome. www.nianow.com.
