Event description

Description

As the diaspora commemorates the 400th anniversary of the first African stolen and brought to this country, we invite you to join us on Weeksville’s sacred and free land for our Juneteenth Community Festival.

As our Meals As Collective Memory series comes to a close (for now), we will honor Weeksville's rich history of our liberation and asserting our right to stay put! To celebrate the culinary tradition of our ancestors’ Juneteenth meals of the past, join us for some delicious BBQ, ice cold drinks, and family fun.

In partnership with: NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Council member Robert Cornegy Jr., & Assembly member Tremaine Wright
