June Star: Equally Wild Album Release Show! w/ Letitia VanSant
Overview
June Star:
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, June Star has been crafting haunting, literate Americana since 1998. Founded by singer-songwriter Andrew Grimm, the band released its debut album in 1999 and quickly established a reputation for emotionally honest songs rooted in folk, alt-country, and classic rock traditions.
June Star's music evokes the dust and soul of American highways—melancholic, introspective, and unflinchingly human. With influences ranging from Townes Van Zandt to Neil Young to The Replacements, the band explores themes of regret, resilience, and revelation across a prolific discography.
At the heart of it all is Grimm’s weathered voice and evocative storytelling, backed by a stellar lineup: Dave Hadley on pedal steel, David Bryson on drums, Chris Iseli on bass, and Michael Zepeda on guitar. Together, they deliver a sound that is both timeless and restless—equal parts intimate and expansive.
Whether performing in dim-lit clubs or on homemade recordings, June Star remains fiercely independent and artistically driven. Their recent releases (Arrival, Latency, and Agency) show a band still evolving, still searching, and still speaking from the heart.
Letitia VanSant:
Letitia VanSant’s lyrics trace questions about why the world is the way it is into the human soul. With sparse indie folk arrangements fortifying a distinctly intimate vocal style, her stage presence is down-to-earth and immediate.
Paste Magazine named her among 10 Artists to Watch in 2020, BBC Radio says she is “a fascinating new artist.” Her songwriting has earned several awards, including the Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition. VanSant’s debut album Gut It to the Studs and its follow up Circadian established her as an emerging talent on the Americana scene and propelled her on to tour in the UK/Europe.
Letitia is one half of Golden Aster, a vocal harmony-focused duo with Laura Wortman of the Honey Dewdrops, and lead vocalist for classic country band Rusty Sal. Her forthcoming collaboration with David McKindley-Ward is due in fall of 2024.
Waverly Brewing:
Waverly Brewing Co. (WBC) is located in the Hampden-Woodberry area of Baltimore, Maryland, USA. WBC was conceived amidst a table of beers (as many great ideas are), when some friends new and old gathered to sample brewer Roy Fisher’s storied homebrews.
Waverly Brewing Co.’s beers strive to be honest and hard-working while remaining playful and experiential. WBC holds no allegiance to regional styles nor a particular flavor profile. Rather, we brew what we like to drink, and we’re always eager to create new and interesting brews to share with friends. Whether you’re a seasoned craft beer veteran or a curious casual beer drinker looking for new taste adventures, we believe you’ll find sanctuary with Waverly Brewing Co.
Don’t drink whatever. Drink Waverly.™
