Event description

Description

After past pop-up events, we are officially launching Parlay House East Bay! We will be hosting quarterly events in Oakland, featuring local speakers, interesting topics and inviting women to parlay – to both speak AND invite other women to develop meaningful connections. To keep our first launch event exciting and fun, we have invited Bay Area comedian Jackie Keliiaa to address the question –Humor: A Career or An Art Form? She’ll answer these and other important questions in a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like as a comedian, engage audiences as a Native American and hold down an important day job, all while maintaining her own sense of humor about life.

Jackie Keliiaa

Comedian, Jackie Keliiaa

Jackie is an Ivy League grad serving up intellectual humor from an Urban Native perspective. Her comedy is smart and handy - you didn't know you needed it. Jackie’s opened for Nikki Glazer and was featured on the first-ever Native American Comedy TV show on PBS. She is a Bay Area native and performs regularly at Punchline SF, Comedy Oakland, and Tommy T's.

Jackie produces Amazonians, a monthly woman-fronted comedy show in Oakland. When Jackie's not performing, she's supporting economic development in the East Bay. Jackie loves alpacas and smashing the patriarchy - it's all in a day’s work!
