June General Membership Meeting - Improving Nasal Airway & Aesthetics

Dorsal Preservation rhinoplasty, a general term encompassing a technique that allows for takedown of a dorsal hump without disrupting the keystone area, has re-emerged and offers advantages over the traditional and widely practiced component resection of the bony and cartilaginous dorsal hump. Rhinoplasty and maxillofacial practices are moving to more preservation surgery. However, the literature has a paucity of material on the topic of preservation as well as the use of ultrasonic piezoelectric technology. Our center is currently evaluating the functional and aesthetic outcomes of a let down dorsal preservation rhinoplasty and maxillary expansion performed with the Piezoelectric system.
