Where do the candidates for State Superintendent of Public Instruction stand on important education issues?
Over the last few months, OEA and VOICE have been presenting “High Stakes Testing: Is It Worth the Cost?” at community meetings around the state. During those meetings, education employees and parents shared stories of how testing has affected their children and what they think an “A” school looks likes.
During the June 8 Accountability Session, each the candidates for state superintendent will answer questions derived from the testing stories and ideas of what makes a great school that have been shared during community meetings over the last few weeks. The candidates will have one minute to answer the question, and will then receive a grade of “yes” or “no” based on their answers.
All seven candidates for state superintendent have been invited.
All OEA members and their guests will walk into the event together and sit together in the same section.

The June 8 Accountability Session is a project of VOICE OKC, a coalition of 28 congregations, nonprofits, unions and schools that have come together out of a deep sense of mission and concern for the pressures Oklahoma City metro area families are facing.
