(June 25) Michael Arndt's ENDINGS: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE INSANELY GREA...
Event Information
Description
The Writers Guild of America, East
invites you and a guest to attend a screening and discussion of
Michael Arndt’s
ENDINGS: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE INSANELY GREAT
Some movies leave you indifferent, some leave you satisfied, and some leave you feeling euphoric—walking on air and seeing the world through new eyes. What, then, is the difference between a bad ending, a good ending, and an insanely great ending?
Join screenwriter Michael Arndt for a screening of the new video version of his lecture: ENDINGS: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE INSANELY GREAT. In this cinematic version of an AFF favorite, Arndt explores how great endings work with a close analysis of the climaxes of STAR WARS, THE GRADUATE, and his own screenplay, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE.
The screening will be followed by an extended Q&A with Arndt.
Arndt wrote the screenplays for LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (2006) and TOY STORY 3 (2010). He also received shared screenplay credit for OBLIVION (2013), THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE (2013), and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (2015). He lives in New York.
