Two Great Speakers – Republican Women Running in Broward! RSVP Now!
Join the Broward Women’s Republican Club on June 20 6:30 p.m. at the Olive Garden (5550 N. Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale) to hear from two great women candidates running for office! (see below for their bio in the order of their appearance)
Heather Moraitis - Community leader and Fort Lauderdale native, Heather Moraitis has announced her candidacy for Fort Lauderdale City Commission in the 2018 municipal election cycle. She is seeking District I, which is open seat. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Master’s degree in Education, Heather brings a love of the Sunshine State to her public service. In the coming months, her grassroots-driven campaign will focus on attracting the right kind of local investment to create jobs and opportunity, while at the same time generating the economic strength needed to fund community expectations, neighborhood needs, and the challenge of sea level rise. Heather is also a member of the Broward Republican Women’s Club.
Carla Spalding – With the theme “Unite and Rise Together,” Carla is running for U.S. Congress, District 23. Her areas of focus are Veterans, healthcare, education and student loans, economic growth, and national safety. Carla was born in the Caribbean and moved to the U.S. in her youth. She is a U.S. Navy Veteran, and has a Master’s in Education, and is a registered nurse and educator. Carla worked in the VA Regional Medical Center, and is also a small business owner, a published author, and is the Council Secretary for the Salvation Army.
