Please join us for what will surely be a memorable luncheon meeting. Pianist Natsumi Ikenaga and violinist Yuri Matsumoto (daughters of a current and past member) will perform some of the best-loved classical music written for violin and piano by Beethoven, Chopin, Elgar, and Kreisler. They will talk about their music and how they interpret each piece. Natsumi and Yuri both spent their childhoods in the United States and studied together at the prestigious Toho Gakuen High School of Music in Tokyo.

Natsumi Ikenaga / Piano

Natsumi started the piano at the age of four. After graduating from the Toho Gakuen High School of Music in Tokyo, she gained her Bachelor of Music (Hons), Master of Music, and Artist Diploma in Performance degrees at the Royal College of Music, London. As a soloist and an active chamber musician, Natsumi has performed in many international venues. In 2014, she was named as a Chanel Pygmalion Days Artist and participated in the prestigious Pygmalion Days Concert Series organised by Chanel K. K. at Nexus Hall, Tokyo. In August, Natsumi will start her studies for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami.


Yuri Matsumoto / Violin 

Yuri started the violin at the age of six. She graduated from the Toho Gakuen High School of Music and Toho Gakuen College of Music. Yuri won 4th Prize at the 20th Japan Classical Music Competition (College Category). In 2007, Yuri performed in numerous concerts around Germany as part of the Japan-German Youth International Cultural Exchange Program. She has also participated in the Vienna International Music Seminar and the Pablo Casals International Music Academy. Yuri is currently a freelance performer and violin teacher in Tokyo. She regularly performs as the first violinist of the Lupinus Quartet.
