Actions and Detail Panel
Wed, March 29, 2017, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM AEDT
We've all been there (some of us are still there). That pause between the cushy familiar and the risky-as-heck unknown. It's what we call 'teetering' and it's killing your runway. The fact is, you can't just dip your toe into entrepreneurship, you've got to leap off the 20m board.
6:00pm - The Warm Up
We're going to kick everything off with a few pizzas and the chance to meet everyone
6:30pm - The Cold Pitch
Are you game enough to verbally pitch your idea to the room? This means no slides, no prep and no idea what kinds of questions we're going to ask. Anyone who's brave enough to jump in (get it?) will put their names into a hat. We'll get through as many people as we can in 15 mins – so no waffling!
7:00pm - The Stunt Crew
Allen Haroutonian has recently taken the jump into his own startup, X-Lab, but this is not his first rodeo. He'll talk you through his biggest #flearnings and teach you how to adopt a player mindset.
With 15 years in the startup ecosystem, Melissa Pye is a serial entrepreneur who has seen it all. She now runs The LightBulb Lounge which helps you foster your inner-entrepreneur and turn your idea into a successful startup.
7:15pm - The Big Questions
Our panel will consist of our two guest speakers and cold pitchers. Ask them all the questions you haven't been able to Google.
Your ticket includes basic drinks (including beer) and food (most likely pizza) #startuplife
About our events:
If there's one thing we've learned, it's that starting a startup is hard. Every dollar is scrutinised, failure (on some scale) is imminent, and your parents just don't get what you do.
They say it's lonely at the top, but it can be just as isolated in the startup wilderness. That's why we're creating some camaraderie in the trenches.
This is the place to go to share your #flearnings, practice that pitch, and arm yourself with extra startup wisdom. We've capped it at 20 so everyone has a chance to add to the conversation.
