Please join Network For Progress, a social and media-savvy grassroots community inspired by the "Yes We Can" Movement to engage Progressives, Democrats, Hope Mongers and Change Makers in political and civic participation, at July’s Career Progress Meetup: “Speed Networking” Edition with Tom Manatos, Founder of TomManatosJobs.com and Director of Government Affairs for the Internet Association!
What is Custom Network-building? Well, if you want to connect with people in DC or anywhere it is better not to focus on “speed” and rush your conversations or “networking” like you are looking for the exact fit that will get you your next job...so we’ll try to create a different tone. Instead, we will be helping you find the best matches for developing several great relationships ranging from political and civic to personal and professional.
At 6:30pm, after we introduce attendees around the room to each other, we will hear Tom’s thoughts about getting a job in DC and the Internet economy as well as some mentors and employers offer some advice and opportunities.
At 7pm, we will set up some 1-on-1s with our expert guests (first come, first serve) and also divide up by interests based on our Industry, Career Type and Field for up to 10 rounds of 5-Minute conversations.
Attendees will be encouraged to come early and stay late to continue their connections. If they need a little bit of help we will have Networking Buckets where they can draw names of people with relevant expertise for their interests.
