July 2017 DC Living Heritage Network Monthly Meeting

Through October 2017 DC Living Heritage Network (DCLHN) will convene monthly meetings to discuss “best practices” for organizations and individual professionals working in the humanities, heritage, and preservation. This month, Joanne Henson will discuss “Empowering Youth” and how the DCLHN has helped to continue her youth work through Henson Arts. Joanne is the founder and director of Henson Arts in Learning (H.A.I.L.) program which strives to assist children in improving their reading, writing, and math skills, along with teaching of the arts.
Join us for an upcoming DCLHN meeting, a consortium of Washington, DC area organizations dedicated to making the humanities, heritage and preservation an integral part of the city’s forthcoming cultural plan.
Our mission is to ensure that DC’s vibrant heritage is collectively and continuously transmitted to current and future residents and visitors through the work of heritage broad spectrum of organizations, businesses and individuals.
