July 2013 - NWI Food Swap

With county fairs and such, July seems to be a booked month for "free rooms" around the area. As much as I wanted each swap to be in a different location (so new people can get a chance to attend), the next swap is being planned in the same Chesterton library room as the May swap. Even though it's the end of the holiday weekend, it will be on Sunday, July 7th from 3 to 5 pm.... Sometimes we just have to work with what's available. Plus, because of the room size, our attendee restrictions aren't as tight.
Also...in looking ahead...because of peak growing season, we'll have a back to back swap in the month of August. It's scheduled for Sunday, August 4th at the First United Methodist Church in Lowell. We will skip September and have our last swap of the year in October...looking at either the 6th or the 13th in Michigan City (but not secure yet.) We will then try and resume in January of 2014. By doing this, we are avoiding the holiday madness of November and December. Even though the idea of a holiday swap sounds fun...when the time comes, everyone will mostl likely be busy. If anyone is interested, we can talk about that later in the year.
So...there's the low-down...start stocking up on your swap items...the time from July to August will surely come quick

If you RSVP, and must cancel for some reason, the cutoff to cancel is July 1st, in order to give notice to people on a waiting list. Of course, we would like to avoid any cancellations, but sometimes it happens.
